We are pleased to launch the 5th year of our Summer Internship Program (SIP) here at SRT!
Each year, we are flooded with resumes from students competing for a chance to take part in our dynamic, 12-Week program.
In honor of this milestone and the success of our SIP, here are 5 Reasons Why Interning at SRT is the Best Investment in a College Student’s Career.
#1: SRT’s Summer Internship Program Gives an Authentic Taste of the Real-World Tech Industry

One of the top complaints recent graduates have while searching for entry-level work is that employers require an “astronomical amount” of work experience. Our internship program helps to close that gap by accepting students with all levels of experience and providing a safe, non-judgmental environment for them to expand their horizons.
Further, our SIP strategically places interns in departments related to their fields of study—departments that range from Engineering to Marketing, Production to Software Development, Human Resources and more! The interns work full-time schedules, receive competitive salaries for their work, and are assigned tasks that contribute to actual, live projects.
#2: Individualized Professional Development is a Top Focus of Our Summer Internship Program
Another invaluable aspect of our Summer Internship Program is the way professional development is personalized for each intern and embedded into every aspect of the job. More specifically, each intern is assigned a mentor that works closely with them throughout their program–showing them the ropes and helping them to sharpen their craft.
Our interns are also given the opportunity to cross-train in more than one department in accordance with their interest in other areas of our company and/or as it begins to be clear that their emerging strengths would best be applied in another department.
#3: Good Old Networking!—with the best and the brightest in Technology!

We’ve all heard it said that Technology is the future. And more than ever, businesses across industries are seeking to capitalize on improving what they do via technology. This has created a huge demand for the companies and professionals that power those technological advances. At SRT, we are proud to have 20+ years of experience as pioneers of next-generation technology and with that, have employed some of the best, the brightest, and the highly knowledgeable in the field.
When we bring on interns for our Summer Internship Program, we are inviting them to network, train and “rub shoulders” with these very people: The engineers, the software developers, the scientists and more! Our interns are also provided opportunities to take those professional contacts to the next level by way of a weekly intern meeting called, “Weekly Business Meetings”.
These meetings are conducted round-table style and are designed to help interns:
- Glean from their peers
- Engage in ongoing dialogue about their SIP experience, and
- To listen to short presentations from 2-3 of our managers per meeting.
In the manager speeches, the focus is sharing what they do and how their respective departments contribute to the success of the company. They also share their personal journeys of how they got to where they are in their careers and then answer any questions the interns have in a Q&A fashion.
#4: Interns Have the Potential to be Hired After Completing our Program

Since the inauguration of our Summer Internship Program, we have consistently hired an average of 25% of our interns from each graduating class. And each year, that percentage steadily increases.
While getting hired post completing our program is not guaranteed, the fact is that our fast-growing company is constantly looking for great candidates.
Last year alone, we hired over 100 people—a feat that has gotten us recognized by Inc. 5000 in 2015, 2017 and 2018 as one of the fasting growing private companies in America.
That said, we’ve been encouraged by the progress of past interns who have transitioned from new hires with little experience to significant contributors to their teams. This fact combined with the strong selling point that our interns essentially complete “12-week long working interviews”—make each graduating intern class top picks for who we want to hire next.

Last but not least, that which makes completing an internship at SRT one of the best ways for a college student to invest in their future careers is how very much our program is an enjoyable experience.
From frequent company events to group recreational activities—SRT means it when we say we like to work hard and play even harder! During the Summer in particular, Interns have the opportunity to participate in our Summer golf league, ping-pong tournament, weekly Pilates & Yoga classes, Summer Kickoff events and more!
Final Thoughts
It’s no secret that the Summer Internship Program we offer is one of a kind! Ultimately, we seek to set our interns up for success whether they join our team or launch their careers elsewhere. And we’re thrilled to report, this is exactly what we’ve been able to do each year since the inauguration of the program.
